Worth switching from Columbia to Shady grove?

I am going to switch. They forgot to call me with my time-sensitive results and I had to call 4 times over two days before anyone picked up the phone. Not even an apology when I finally got someone on the line. Terrible!

I made an appointment right away with SGF but I think the day before the doctor canceled because she had the flu. I was bummed and frustrated (this had been a cancellation I was able to fill and the next available was a few weeks out) so I put off rescheduling. I had already managed to start a new cycle at CFA which ended up working. I’m not sure I would go back to CFA if needed. The way they treated me after they didn’t return repeated requests for appointments really rubbed me the wrong way. I’m guessing if that cycle didn’t work we would have either gone to SGF or waited due to COVID.

Been at CFA for almost a year and I will agree their management both on the medical and financial side is worse than it was before (and it was bad). I’ve had testing done that no one called me about, it took two weeks and an email including my doctor to get information on a bill they sent me (which I didn’t owe), it took over a week to get a financial counselor to pay to start my cycle (which is obviously time sensitive). My doctor is extremely responsive but everyone else isn’t, and as was said they don’t even apologize or acknowledge their error. This will be my last cycle there.

Where will you be going next? I’m so disappointed and don’t understand why it’s so hard to find a good clinic in the DC area. I was at Shady Grove before, which was not nearly as much of a hot mess as CFA, but still took a few tries to get anyone to call me back any time I had questions. I might go back there because CFA was even worse but would love to hear any recs for somewhere better.

I’m “just” doing IUI, I can’t imagine how much worse this would be with something as delicate as IVF.

For a number of reasons we will most likely just be moving on from IVF. We haven’t had a ton of cycles, this is our second but it is very taxing emotionally and financially, so for now after this cycle we will stop or at least take a break. It is very frustrating and I am not sure why exactly it is so bad across all of these clinics. There isn’t a single one I have heard great things about honestly.
