Car maintenance jiffy lube or dealership ?

Jiffy Lube used to be great! Now it's nothing but trying to get the most out of you.
Gone are the $30 oil changes where they vacuum your car.
I really feel like JL tries to hustle you now. They prey on your lack of knowledge about car care and push every product/service on you.
Find a local mechanic.

it depends what kind of lexus.

if you drive an rx or es then go to pepboys.

if you drive an is, gs, ls, gx, lx - go to the dealer

Absolutely to a trusted mechanic. Never a dealer (over-charge and up-charge every time) and never Jiffy Lube (they'll screw something up).

This for us, too. Our local mechanic is a good technician AND a good guy who does not try to "up-sell" us services we do not really need. The dealership has been dreadful and pushes lots of additional stuff.

Last time I got an oil change at the dealer (not my idea, DH wanted to try them), 30 minutes after I left, the large metal "pan" beneath the car fell and dragged and scraped. They had replaced ONE of the four attachments meant to hold it on. I got someone to detach it and I want straight back to the dealership, where they had the nerve to shrug it off as if it were not the direct result of their incompetence and failure to do a simple oil change properly. That attitude was the last straw. They reattached it but with no apology or concern.

Since you don't know any trusted mechanic, in your case, I would go to the dealer. Newer/luxury cars have more electronic nowadays, and they require special equipment for it. You have to pay more, but at least you'll feel better than taking it to Jiffy Lube.

When I were younger, I used to take my car to Jiffy Lube for oil change. Never again.

I haven’t heard too many good things re: Jiffy Lube.

Plus - Aren’t the employees not even certified mechanics....??
Quick question ,
If you drriving Lexus and dashboard showing maintenance required do you take to Jiify lube or Lexus dealerships?
Old or new? Old - almost anywhere that fixes that kind of car. New - dealer, always.

Similar thing happened to DH. They drained the oil then "replaced" it but hadn't put the drain plug back on properly so the oil all drained out very quickly and the engine was toast.

This happened to me as well, will never go back again.
