Is Round-Up the best weed killer?

Pull up weeds by the roots. If there is a large weed like a porcelain berry bush, you cut it to the ground, and put a "DROP" of round up on.

Spraying Round Up, kills everything it touches; weeds or not.

We will also be entering colder weather soon. Pull up the weeds by hand. More than likely, you won't need anything else.

Spoken as if you actually have a brain, thank you!

Hope you guys aren't pregnant, have kids, or like getting cancer:

The FDA really thinks you are stupid, OP. Don't use that poison anywhere near your own property, or anyone else's.

Even if you were right, how much salt run off does it take to kill all the living creatures in a fresh water stream? And what happens when a freshwater stream dies of salination? Here is a start for your research: http://www.pnas.org/content/102/38/13517.long All life on the planet depends on fresh water. Do you know how little fresh water the planet holds for all of life to share? We really can't afford to pollute our fresh water.

Except the PP is not right. It is worse than salt.

PP you can always prove us wrong--eat the same amount of salt and drink the same amount of roundup.

No problem, right? It's the same as salt.

No kidding. You have to be a real idiot to use Roundup, or anything like it, knowing what the general public knows in this day and age. I thought people were supposed to be smart in this area? Wow, just wow.

do you realize how much round up you have to ingest to be harmed?

So, can anyone recommend a safe weed killer?

People who use Roundup are not generally using it "sparingly", OP. In addition, have you noticed that they wear gloves (or should be, if they are not) and dispense it from a gallon plus, complete with industrial sprayer? Give me a break. If you have to use anything on weeds, maybe use vinegar. But *any* weed is *not* worth the ramifications and risks of Roundup. Really. Most of the world already knows this.

From Wikipedia [Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Round Up]. "Glyphosate can have carcinogenic effects in non-human mammals. These include the induction of positive trends in the incidence of renal tubule carcinoma and haemangiosarcoma in male mice, and increased pancreatic islet-cell adenoma in male rats.[11] A 2015 review found that glyphosate may be toxic below the lowest-observed-adverse-effect level that has been assigned to it by regulators, and that its effects may include "teratogenic, tumorigenic and hepatorenal effects."[71]"

eating a lot of cow manure is also harmful.

I think you need to calm down with your over the top craziness. A bottle or two of round up a year on your property is harmless.

You are obviously not a scientist, nor anywhere near a scientist. Why are you telling posters to calm down? Because you are ignorant and have nothing else? Good luck with that.

You have definitive grounds to sue your abutting neighbors for reckless use - i.e.: video them using it. Done.
