I live near Navy Elementary and I know they have a very robust special education program. Many of the homes are in the 700-1.3 range but there are many townhomes right around 400k. Search the zip 22033, near Pender or Fair Oaks Hospital.

Here is the school profile. http://commweb.fcps.edu/schoolprofile/profile.cfm?profile_id=332

My older son started first grade there this year and the teacher has been very proactive about communicating. He is not in a special needs program, but he can be a handful at times. My younger son just completed evaluations with ChildFind and we have some concerns about Aspergers. I am currently waiting on an appt with a neuro, seeking a dx, but know parents with autistic children who are very pleased with the school and programs offered.

Fairview Elementary in Burke has an autism program. Housing prices might fit your budget and the VRE is there for an easy commute.
