I'd agree but I just was there out of desperation for a spring break trip. Got a great pair of Eileen Fisher mules and all the cleaning products I like for a year and a planter. Last year I snagged the Veja's that I didn't want to pay full price for.

I also heard the Nordstrom Rack at Tysons was a good one. But I heard their parking lot was also a mess.

How’s the one in Fairfax?

You can't be making enough to be worth your time, listing fees, shipping, and the cut ebay or whom ever takes. Not a chance.

Amen they have one of things in some random size. The Alexandria and falls church stores are rough af it's all stained and dirty there are so many empty racks. It's literally no better than a thrift store in fact I've had a better chance finding things at the thrift store.

These stores are not the same. I find they are mostly filled with cheap no label clothes now. The supply chain issues during the pandemic changed clothing manufacturing permanently. Brands now make less and learned there’s something to building FOMO. Small supply, greater demand. Backorder, restock, waiting lists - all par for the course now with direct labels. And therefore, there is far less (veering towards none) left for consignment. That amazing era is sadly dead.

People still shop at these places? I haven't set foot in one since 1998.

I used to buy a lot at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s in store, but don’t find much now. I still do find some things and better quality merchandise these stores online.

I only shop at TJ Maxx. They have the best jeans for me (Democracy), nice jewelry and all I need for cheap. They have a website too. Marshall's I think has gone way downhill.

Yes. They scoop up anything they think they can make a few dollars on. Almost always it's a total waste of time to pick through all the crap brands and cheap fabric.

The Marshall's in Vienna is great! Their beauty section is outstanding. I have gotten plenty of shoes, sundresses etc. there. Wish the boys section was better. I had given up on Nordstrom Rack in Tysons for the last 3 years. I went back last month and was pleasantly surprised as they had much better clothing selections for brands that the real Nordstrom's carries.
