New Mean Girls Movie?

That sounds like a fun day! Hope you had popcorn!

I had no expectations, but it was cute!

I haven't seen it yet, but the songs I heard haven't seemed as energetic as they are in the musical so I find that an odd choice.

I love the musical though! I wish they would just bring Broadway recordings of the musical to the theaters vs making movies out of Broadway musicals if that makes sense. I saw the Broadway recording of The Waitress in the theater and it was so good. Plus this allows folks to see musicals without shelling out Broadway cash. It widens the audience.

Angourie Rice tanked this movie. Terrible singer. Hollywood needs to stop casting these talentless nepo babies.

I liked it, but then I had already liked the songs from the musical. I also liked that they tried to correct some of the more problematic language and plot points of the original. I don't know if most people would consider it better than the original but it was enjoyable.

I liked it a lot. The new Karen is hilarious. I like that more characters got screen time.

Rice is Australian. Her parents are "in the business" but not super famous or anything. I actually think she's talented and would have been good in this role if it weren't a musical. She's been good in other things. She should not have been cast in a role that required singing, especially next to ReneƩ Rapp you starred in the Broadway musical of Mean Girls and is a very broad performer.

My 13 year old DD loved it. So did I and my husband liked it too.

Went with 12-year-old girl and her friend and friends mom. We all liked it a lot.

"Expect suggestive gestures and lingo, including a teen rapping about his skills "under the sheets" and mentions of one girl's high number of sex partners. There's also passionate, over-the-top kissing, plenty of cleavage, and a couple of numbers with sexy costumes/references. Language -- from "a--hole" and "s--t" to "b--ch" and "sl-t" -- is fairly frequent. Teens drink in a couple of party scenes (including having shots), and there are references to vaping and an inhaler full of vodka. Violence is infrequent and played for humor but does include one potentially shocking moment."

Right, exactly the type of movie I want to see. /s. Or I want my kids to see /s. There is SO MUCH good entertainment (yes, some old, like Chariots of Fire) to watch. WHY WHY WHY pay to see this garbage?

Who is she related to? I just IMDB'd her and didn't see anything of note.
