Door dash lunch delivery?

Anonymous
I was a teacher and had a parent do this. It was the worst. Often the food would arrive late or not at all and the kid would be upset and hungry. Then the food would come at the end of lunch and they'd have to eat instead of going to specials. A complete mess.

Make your kid a hot meal. Put the food in a thermos.

This question is very on brand for NoVA

NP — just curious why parents aren’t allowed in? At our ES parents can volunteer for lunch duty to give the teachers a break. And they’re allowed to bring food and eat with their child if it’s a special day like their birthday. Parents of course have to sign in at the office and scan their license before getting a visitor sticker that is printed out with their name and photo on it.

Many years ago the policy was put in place because the cafeteria was just too crowded.

Does your school have teachers on lunch duty? I’ve been with FCPS for 30 years and we’ve never had teachers do lunch duty.

Is this a serious question?

It's not. But I have brought my kid lunch before.

OP is asking for door dash and every day. Can you imagine if everyone did that? Not to mention you would have randos coming into the school. It's a bit over the top but hey maybe I'm just old skool.

No, it's not allowed. I was at a FCPS high school and walked past a kid who got caught for ordering Door Dash to a side door. The kid tried to lie and say their parent brought it to them. The admin/security said that they were going to review the security footage to verify the claims.

Do not do this.

Yeah, it might or might not actually arrive before school is out for the day.

Odd News story last week of students demanding food delivered to side doors at their schools in spite of FCPS’ “No Food Delivery Service” rule.

Our HS does not allow this. If you want to drop off a hot lunch for your kid every day, you personally can do that. You’d leave it on a shelf in the office your kid can come pick it up from. Parents only, no delivery drivers are allowed to drop off anywhere on campus.

Our school allows PARENTS to drop off food. You should do that!

You've ordered door dash, OP. Does it come exactly on time? And is it hot?

The school’s front office is not meant to deal with this nor with kids running in and out of the building to pick up their food. Your kid will be ok. They don’t need restaurant food delivered every day.

I can’t believe this is a real question.
