13 year old support/peer groups?

Many threads on this board become somewhat toxic because of this. Like straight people think they just have some god given right to tell queer people they're not queer.

Meh - Long time lesbian here who offered advice in this thread. I was saying that identifying as LGB isn't about sex. It isn't. I have been single for a long time and haven't had sex in YEARS. It doesn't make me any less gay. And a 13y old who identifies as gay isn't necessarily thinking about sex - but attraction.

Oh I agree with you. I'm actually referring to the people making claims that it's impossible for a 13 year old to know or that they should send them away to camp and therapy or whatever. I'm 100% with you on this one. People's replies sound homophobic TBH because I'm sure if the girl had a crush on a boy, they'd be fine with it which is what I was trying to say. I'm sorry if I came off sounding differently than I meant. <3

Thanks for the reply. You sound like one of the few nice people on DCUM

DP and I agree with the two PPs. Why are people trolling over here telling them to get their 13 year old into counseling?

Oh right. The new "gay agenda" is playing out on social media and kids are being "forced' to identify as LGBTQ+ so they can "be cool and fit in."

Exactly. And I think we know what kind of camps and therapies they want the kids to go to.

Dh swears that he knew he was gay in preschool. If I press for an age he says 2.

Soooo, OP, are you in the dc area? Check out Pflag, and go to the dc location on their site. This will show groups in dc, nova, md. Take a look. There are teen groups for meetings and game nights, at least in nova. Surely the other areas, too. Also, there are parent groups if you want to talk with other parents. Most of the parent ones are still virtual.
