| I would really enjoy a book forum. The book threads get buried easily under all the other entertainment threads. |
+1, we've been having great discussions in the various book threads |
|
Has the recent spate of active book threads pushed you, Jeff, into thinking about this more?
We're trying! It's just so off-putting to see the entertainment clogged with so much celebrity stuff. I'd just love it if we could split the forum. I'd love book only, but I really think books, TV, movies and celebrities, reality, and royals is the way to go. |
I actually want to do this but just trying to find the time. The hardest part of creating a new forum is moving old threads into it. That is time-consuming and not particularly fun to do. |
| Ok, great thanks. I'll stop pestering you on this thread. I bet it is hard to find the time. Thanks!! |
| It’s here, thank you! Do you want reports of threads to move to the book forum or no? |
| thanks Jeff! Looking forward to seeing what DCUM'ers are reading. |
Not today. I already have my hands full. Maybe tomorrow. |
| Gosh thank you Jeff. I feel like I finally found my people. |
| I an happy to see the forum off to a good start but it’s classix DCUM that the busiest thread is asking people to crap on books other people like. |
The concept of "discussion" is that both the pros and cons of books are talked about. It's not a fan page for books, that would be entirely dull. |
| Thanks for the book forum! |
If you think "name a popular book you didn't like" (where most of the posters do exactly that without even explaining why they didn't like the book in question) constitutes a "discussion" of the pros and cons of a book then I am not sure I am the one with a deficient understanding of the concept . |
Oh dear. |
