I used to be amused with the lacrosse forums in LaxPower.....but since that is gone and FanLax's forums are kind of dead.....this is the best for a good laugh.

| NESCACS, if your kid wants to play early. |

Duke UVA UNC Not much of a profitable future career in lax, so smart to pick the top academic school you can handle. |
| Good start, plus John’s Hopkins, Notre Dame, Michigan, and the service academy’s. |
Hopkins for men, but the women's program is not that strong and barely in the top 40. Strong academically, of course, but not the lacrosse powerhouse it is for men. |
| Cornell. Ever heard of it? Best lacrosse, a capella, and party school in the nation! |
Final 2021 US Lacrosse ranking for Hopkins women was 11, the men were out of the top 20. https://www.usalaxmagazine.com/media/rankings/college/division-1-women https://www.usalaxmagazine.com/media/rankings/college/division-1-men |
| Why not add the criteria of great college town where kids have fun. The list gets pretty small. |
| Pretty small list I have UVA and UNC. And that’s about it. |
| And doesn’t hurt that UVA and UNC are warmer than most other top schools too. |
All programs have ups and downs, and Hopkins currently is down, but it has the most rich lacrosse tradition of any school in the nation. Any list of schools with good academics and lacrosse should include Hopkins. |
Cornell women’s lax team sucks. |
| UNC may be a perfect fit it terms of academics, strength of program/facilities, college town and weather. Coach is supposed to be a great guy, too. |

Truth is for women, Ivy lacrosse isn’t good other than Penn and Princeton.
Columbia,Yale and Brown’s womens teams are terrible - like cannot win a game against a decent D1 program bad. Harvard and Cornell are almost as bad. Dartmouth women have had some great years but more bad and last year they were beat by an okay DIII program. For women, when it comes to lax, the players who go Ivy except to P&P, aren’t there for the sport and the coaches at those schools are meh. The current Harvard coach may make a difference and there are a couple other new coaches that might be better, but the long timers like at Brown and Cornell should have lost their jobs years ago. They are bad at the two things that matter in college - winning and recruiting. |
| Add Bucknell to the list |
