Need REALLY comfortable shoes for being on my feet all day - not fugly Danskos

Anonymous
I have Danskos. I love them. They are so comfortable and changed my life in terms of eliminating foot pain. But they are ugly. We all know it. Are there any other brands with shoes as comfortable and healthy for your feet but appropriate for a business setting? I wear suits most days, but really - danskos with suits are just embarrassingly tacky. What other brands work? Comfort and style a must.

Borns are a good choice for bridging the gap between fashion and troll-under-the-bridge-feet. At least in Borns I can wear 3+ inch heels in jeans and look lean and cute.

Peeps, OP asked for shoes to wear with business suits, not jeans or athletic pants. With the exception of some of the Sofft, Born, and Tsubos, these suggestions do not address OP's request.

I dress business / business casual and need comfortable shoes as I am frequently walking between office locations about 1/4 to 1/2 mile each way.

Some of the brands that I find stylish / comfortable include:
Sofft
Born
Geox

privo--a clarks brand.

Indigo for Clarks (if wearing pants), Sofft pumps for use with skirts.

Softspots. I found them on Zappos and they were so fantastic I wore them to death. Now they don't have that style anymore and the ones they do have are dressier than I need.

Try Borns or Munro brand.

I've had good luck with these:

Rockport - Pilot Path pump in suede is surprisingly normal looking and oh-so comfy. I can cook and serve Thanksgiving dinner in these and still have happy feet at the end of the day.

Cole Haan - hit or miss on the fit, but when they are a good fit, they are really good.

Ecco - some pretty cute shoes that are also comfortable.

Easy Spirit - I love my ankle boots. Pretty much wear them with pants all winter. The styles vary in the cute factor.

Clarks / Privo / Indigo - I have yet to find any of their heels that look OK with skinny calves, but their flats and sandals are very comfy. If you have more muscular or curvy legs, the heels might be great for you (they look great on my coworker who has a totally different build than me).

Munro - my mother swears by these. Especially good if you have a narrow foot (although I doubt you do if you find Danskos fit you well). I don't love the style of their dressier shoes (prefer the sportier ones, but those wouldn't go well with a suit), but they are probably better than Dansko.

You might also find that inserts or custom orthotics help to make any shoe more comfortable.
