One Day on Netflix… bingeworthy

I think Dexter had more depth and maturity than he’s given credit for which was the point because pretty face. Emma’s depth and maturity were surface level which was the point because she’s insecure about her looks.

The actors have good chemistry and I think that’s part of why they were cast together. I watched an interview where Leo Woodall says that he read with a lot of actresses and the casting director thought they lacked chemistry. I thought both did a great job.

I'm not going to read the posts because I'm not done yet but..... go watch it now if you haven't. It's incredibly entertaining.

Ugh - Emma is so unattractive both in looks and personality as she is portrayed. I just finished this and didn't enjoy it because the casting was horrible!

Wait, you didn’t enjoy it but you watched all 14 episodes? Quite the glutton for punishment, aren’t ya?

Most of the casting was excellent. The only controversy seems to be about Ambika Mod. Who would you have cast? You can’t possibly have taken issue with Leo Woodall, right? If he doesn’t win an Emmy for Dex there is no justice in the world.

This is actually very cool to read.
Because I definitely needed convincing too. He’s such a shallow egotistical pretty boy at the start that I have trouble believing he would have given her a second look. And her character seemed to feel that way too. So it’s interesting to me that the actress did too. AND it was beautiful the way she seemed to grow into her sense of self and eventually feel that she did deserve to be in his life. And even at times pitying him.

I think it's sad that Ambika felt that way. She's very attractive.

The two characters were drawn together because neither one of them had a good sense of themselves. Emma painfully denied herself everything she wanted, at least until the end.

Of course the actress felt like that. Just look at the comments on this thread. 90% are about her looks-people are sadly extremely shallow.

Not gonna lie, episode fourteen had me in tears.

Leo Woodall needs to go star in something now where he gets to shoot people or blow things up.

Ideally Ambika and Anne Hathaway. I find them both cringe and unwatchable but Anne worse by a huge margin

Is this for teenagers?

It was good, but I had randomly watched the movie because it was available on YouTube and they didn't really do anything better than the movie. Personally I liked Jim Sturgess and Anna Hathaway better as Dex and Emma.

After seeing Anne Hathaway on the Lip Sync battle, I have a hard time thinking any Dexter could wait 15 years to consummate their relationship.
