The Golden Bachelor

I think everybody is unfairly fantasizing that this guy is some supreme being because they turned an ordinary, regular looking man into a handsome million dollar man with all of the free cosmetic surgery. Being poor there is no shame in ,working hard there is no shame in being insensitive and unkind, and especially at the age of 72 years old where you expect somebody to have grown as a human being is not acceptable. If he picks Teresa I hope she has enough sense which I think she does to have a prenup and not to let this character get his hands on her money, I read his wife was nothing but a volunteer her whole life ,who knows what the real story is. But the old saying is if it seems too good to be true it is and that’s how he has tried to come across. He’s just a human being with flaws and the good and bad and ugly like all of us but I don’t like that he takes advantage of women and especially old women who are vulnerable. It’s unfair because he wants to play his little game shows lack of character, and his crying theatrics at nauseum is enough
you couldn’t get a man to deceive a women if that’s not who he is .
Stop giving him excuses.
I say who cares now
he is not authentic

I don’t know if anybody noticed after reading that article how he perked up when he learned what a success to Teresa was in her field and probably realizes she has money. I think that was the clincher for him that made it for him.
Leslie has no money I think she’s just been an average person but Teresa is she’s old she’s vulnerable and if he was as unkind as I think he is to lead her on now that he realizes she was a professional and has a nice bank account he will show who he really is
what kind of a man has a woman move in with him and make her pay half the rent
are you kidding me
she should’ve charged him every time she had to go to bed with him Instead
Who wants a man like that?
nobody !

His girlfriend dodged a bullet all she would’ve gotten out of the deal was having to change his diapers and be his caregiver and pay half the rent and bills to have the pleasure of doing it. What a loser a man in his 60s or 70s and charges a woman to move in with him
give me a break he’s not in college that’s just who he is
a loser.

I think he took acting lessons for the show 😂
We always assume because he’s old he is an angel
handsome men get away with a lot of stuff with women. He wasn’t handsome at all his thousands of dollars of free cosmetic surgery and teeth worked out for him.
After I read, he made that girl move in with him so soon and pay half of his bills pay half of everything and then was embarrassed to be seen with her at his reunion. U It wasn’t like his wife was a movie star but that’s not even the point ,the man is lacking character, and no matter how old you get he doesn’t have it

He’s good I’ll give him that. I think he’s just duped the whole country like Santos 😋
Pathetic
Too bad cause I think there are some really good golden bachelors out there that are authentic

I don’t believe this guy is going to get married for real. I’m sure if he’s getting engaged the show paid for and whoever he picks is going to see who he really is and they’re going to say
Get lost
On top of it, he promised his girlfriend family he was gonna marry her. The whole thing is just pathetic.

I hope the girl he’s going to pick has read this article, but girls think they’re special and that the man treats her better than the other girls because she’s special and she’ll find out she’s not

I like her a lot less than Leslie, but I think Leslie comes off as more desperate.
Leslie has spent the entire show (that we've seen) talking about picking bad men, never getting chosen, freaking out when Gerry is with someone else, being afraid to be vulnerable, then being vulnerable and being afraid of getting hurt. It's all been about how much she wants to be loved.
Theresa has basically been like "I was married a long time and lost my husband, I tried dating but gave up, I like my career, I want to fall in love again, and maybe you're the one!"
She certainly seems more calm and Leslie more frantic, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's calculated.

Oh, I don't like Leslie either, she's just pathetic.

Anyone who would agree to appear on this show is pathetic.

And word salads, apparently.

Joan’s early departure is making more and more sense. She saw straight through him after their dinner date.

Right, right. He didn't *consider* dating until a year after his wife passed.

So did he also lie on his Linked In?

The Hollywood Reporter suggests he was a maintenance man, of all things. Maybe that was PT work after he "retired"? He had a lot of short-term gigs, which is suspicious. His poor wife.

Doesn't it seem suspicious to any of you that Gerry would allegedly balk at a woman's 10 lbs of weight, when his wife was not a skinny mini? And his daughters aren't skinny either?

I mean, we don't know what is real or not, but that part of the story doesn't ring true to me. I don't think you can be as "sensitive" as Gerry presents on GB and be freaked out about 10 lbs.

As for the rest of it, who knows. Part of a story can be true, while the context can be misleading. Maybe he did expect the person (if it happened at all) to pay a portion of the mortgage. Maybe he said "let's split the expenses..."

I don't know. But, I don't take this dirt as truth until there is more proof. There have been other "stories" about Gerry that have been disproved. Like he had an affair at work and he's an alcoholic. Neither of which were true. So, just b/c someone says X and some media reports it, doesn't mean it is all true.

It's generally a good idea to hold off on judgment until you hear both sides or see actual proof.

The article seems to be well sourced and fact checked, but you could be right.
