Help me decide between two job offers

Anonymous
Offer 1 is fully remote and while it is at will employment, has zero chance of layoffs. Salary is 73K and zero travel required.

Offer 2 is hybrid with 3 days in office and while salary is 80K, the company has had a history of layoffs. Travel will also be required (think coast to coast) every other month with the manager (different sex) and we would be spending a lot of time together working as the only unit for the entire operations in the country.

Leaning towards Offer 1 because the supervisor personally selected me for the role and I think being remote with no travel requirement gives me better work-life balance regardless of the salary difference. Thoughts?

How is this even a question? It’s so clearly option 1.

1. The only reason I might consider 2 is if I disliked the work for #1, or if #2 was really enticing for some reason (interesting work, pad resume, etc). I would also factor in how much the days in office and travel would disrupt my life.

1. Not because the manager is up, but because of travel, commuting, and greater risk.

What does different sex have to do with it?

For me it would be 1, hands down.

1 1 1 1 and especially since you even mentioned gender about #2.

1 no question.

My spouse travels a ton for work, a lot internationally. He is in an invite only tier for a specific airline (that is how much he travels and spends). We get tons of points and miles and go first class and have very nice vacations as a family because of his work travel.

The plus if work travel is to get the points (so make sure you join) and try if you can to use same airline/ hotel or those in a group. That is worth $$.

But, travel is not for everyone.

1 is the only option.

You have to be obtuse to not consider it as a concern.

Coast to coast means 7 hours of flight time one way and not counting getting to airports. Plus being in the US, it's probably going to entail getting a rental and would OP be able to travel by oneself or be stuck with the manager who may not be to OP's liking. OP's situation is very different from your husband PP.
