Offer 2 is hybrid with 3 days in office and while salary is 80K, the company has had a history of layoffs. Travel will also be required (think coast to coast) every other month with the manager (different sex) and we would be spending a lot of time together working as the only unit for the entire operations in the country.
Leaning towards Offer 1 because the supervisor personally selected me for the role and I think being remote with no travel requirement gives me better work-life balance regardless of the salary difference. Thoughts?
My spouse travels a ton for work, a lot internationally. He is in an invite only tier for a specific airline (that is how much he travels and spends). We get tons of points and miles and go first class and have very nice vacations as a family because of his work travel.
The plus if work travel is to get the points (so make sure you join) and try if you can to use same airline/ hotel or those in a group. That is worth $$.
But, travel is not for everyone.
