DC Residents: Are you going on vacation in November, or January?

I am truly afraid that utter chaos will ensure with the election this year. As a DC resident, what are politicians doing to keep us safe? Have they thought about calling out the national guard?

I noticed the uptick in non-DC residents on the dating apps during the insurrection. Is there a way to predict it with the increase is cell phone usage on the towers?

I prefer to be safe, rather than sorry. DC cannot afford another insurrection, in November, or January.

I dont think Biden is who OP is worried about.

We're considering visiting family if it seems like the temperature is getting too hot. Trump is fairly transparent and his followers are morons, so I'm sure we'll have an idea of what they are planning in advance.

Of course Trump won't. Trump will pretend there was some massive fraud and that the election was stolen from him and he will rally his supporters and get them to inflict chaos on America.

Better lock your homes and secure them like a fortress before you head out of town.

You are in more danger of being robbed blind in DC (or carjacked) than being attacked by anyone voting in a way you don't approve.

I would be more concerned about the violent protests that will happen if Trump wins..... like in 2016.

Besides the one protester or, as so many on this site prefer to say insurrectionist who was shot by an officer via questionable circumstances— there was no violence that lead to death.

Unless they left a note blaming Jan sixth it’s pretty awful to just assume the police self-harm was due to that.

Like I said, I naturally lean more towards progressive economics and am a gay male so Igenerally frown upon anti-lgbtq conservatives… but this kind of “technically honest but intellectually dishonest and obviously only investigated because of the agenda”… makes anyone willing to research facts regardless of if they’re favorable or not… roll their eyes at this irrational fear of whatever happens next November or next January.

And, this is why we have seen this president weaponize the DOJ and FBI. Because his supporters actually WANT HIM TO. He knows he will not be held accountable by his voters OR the media.
