I received a generous gift card for Sephora. I don't really shop there and I have no idea what to get. I am 50 years old. I have been using Korean/Japanese skin care for over a decade (I'm not Asian). I have dry, light skin with neutral undertones. I have dry semi wavy hair. I have daytime and nighttime routines and lots of products I switch around on my nighttime routine.
Is there a product you would absolutely recommend from Sephora? It can be skincare or hair care. I have good skin and use minimal makeup, prefer the dewy look on my mature skin. No sunscreen recommendations please, I have lots of those. Thank you! |
| Living Proof hair products are all great, I love the Full shampoo and conditioner and their dry shampoo as well. I will say you can usually find them cheaper on sale or with a better gift with purchase at Ulta, and they pop up at TJ Maxx from time to time too. But if you have a gift card at Sephora, might as well buy there. |

The Oribe dry texture spray is my favorite, but I have straight, thin hair.
What about putting it toward a hair tool like a Dyson hair dryer or Air Wrap (which I could not live without personally)? Or one of those red light masks? |
| Define “generous”? That could be 50 or 500, depending on your perspective! |
| I like the face masks. |
Agree! For 500, I'd say Dyson hair dryer. For 50, I'd say replacement makeup brushes. Skincare is really personal and I wouldn't make blanket recommendations, but I always refer people to Hot and Flashy. She has really helped me figure out what my skin needs, and she has sephora recommendations. |
| I like the Sulwhasoo face cleansing oil, it smells good and is in a pump bottle. |

For your dry skin - Gucci Westman complexion drops - great for your skin and lightweight dewy finish - like a really high end tinted serum.
Also for your dry hair - Olaplex 4 and 5 are game changers. Use them one or twice a week and your hair will be much less dry. |
It is $500. I have very dry hair so I never blow dry it. But I can always use a hair mask. I just want to buy good products and I was looking for recommendations. |
I have heard so much about Olaplex and never tried their products. I'll add them to my cart. Thank you! |

I have dry hair and Olaplex 4 and 5 make it worse. My stylist said "Yeah, Olaplex is not for everyone." YMMV, OP. |

I'm 50 and shop at Sephora too much. Pro tip--on 4/5 starts their VIP program with 20% off.
Oribe Gold Lust Shampoo and Conditioner is the best I've ever used and I've used many many brands. La Mer cream I keep on hand for super dry days, it's dewy. I will buy the Jo Malone hand wash from there for bathrooms. Nest Diffusers Gucci Westman blush sticks are nice. Givenchy Prisme Libre powder is super light but takes away the shine. This would easily take you to the $500 no problem! |
