Bracelets and jewelry

Anonymous
My whole life I’ve maintained a simple style and relied on youth, skin, and my hair but all 3 are failing me now that I’m in my mid-40s. I wear modest diamond studs and a watch and I hardly wear my wedding ring. But I think I need more now. I see people wear nice layers of bracelets. Where should I start looking? I don’t want jewelry that’s everywhere (and out of budget), like the love bracelet and van cleef.

Would love to find a few signature pieces. Thanks for any leads!

If you never used to wear bracelets, would you like the feeling of them on? I personally tried many times to get into bracelets, mainly because various friends and boyfriends had given them to me as gifts. I hated having them on; they get in my way.

It’s called stacking.

I mean look at Blake Lively’s!

I personally like these: https://kinnstudio.com/

Just keep an eye out for what you like. Do you want yellow gold or rose gold or silver? You can mix metals too.

I wear a silver Tiffany heart bangle given to me by a short-term boyfriend like 25 years ago, a silver bangle with Shakespeare's sonnet 116 on it given to me by my DH (it was the first thing I memorized in acting school a lifetime ago), a Kendra Scott bracelet that is a blue cord with a little silver heart on it, and a tennis bracelet that my mother gave me (she did not normally give good or expensive gifts, this thing she won at a casino -- which was where she spent a lot of time). I'm eyeing this Greek Goddess bracelet to add to my stack: https://aweinspired.com/products/greek-goddess-bracelet-gold-vermeil?variant=41231294955572

There are so many options. Figure out color of metal you want. Figure out if you want really delicate bracelets, or bangles, or chunky bracelets, or what. Then figure out how much you want to spend -- you can find awesome bracelets in every budget; you definitely don't need David Yurman or Tiffany or Cartier or whatever. In fact it is way more personal and creative to come up with stacks that don't include that stuff.

I do agree with PP that you should consider whether or not you will be ok with stuff on your wrist. If I have to type, I have to take my Tiffany bracelet off, the heart knocks around and makes noise and generally gets in my way and feels annoying. YMMV.
