Does Cascade suck or is it our dishwasher?

Anonymous
Constantly finding unclean dishes after running them in the washer. We've used cascade pods and liquid soap, but often there will be a few things that are still greasy/oily.

Is there anything more powerful than Cascade that you like? Maybe we need more foaming/suds? Or is it our washer?

Sounds like your dishwasher. I think mine gets things clean even without detergent.

It’s your dishwasher.

It’s your dishwasher. We had an LG and our dishes were never clean. We then got a Bosch, and it’s terrific!

Check out the filter in the drain and see if it’s clogged with grease.

Yeah, you don’t need stronger detergent, you need to repair or replace your dishwasher. I thought my silverware was perfectly clean, but then I got a new dishwasher and was shocked by how blindingly shiny my silverware came out the first time I used it.

NP. We have a fairly new Bosch that started out okay but now it's leaving sediment in a lot of glasses.

Over the years, Cascade has consistently been the number one ranked detergent by Consumer Reports.

OP how old is your dishwasher? They rarely make it past around seven years lately.

Same here. Also a Bosch, bought in 2021. I’ve cleaned the filter and the spray arms. A few of the holes in the spray arms were clogged and things improved a bit after I unclogged them, though I still get some sediment in glasses. But you might try that.

Also, do you regularly clean your dishwasher either with the dishwasher cleaner or baking soda and vinegar? In an empty dishwasher, sprinkle 1 cup baking soda on bottom of dishwasher and 1 cup of white vinegar on top rack. Run a regular dishwash load.

Our Bosch came with instructions to only use Finish brand detergent. Has been great so far!
