Diamond stud earrings - what size?

Anonymous
I was thinking one carat but maybe that's too big? What's the DCUM consensus?

No I have 1ct per ear, it does not look to big at all.

i do 1 ct per ear for daily wear. 1.75 for going out.

I assume you mean a round cut... not too big, but I think you should try them on.

Personally I would rather do 1 ct in an emerald cut, simply because the round has too much depth on the ear, so it looks kind of funny as a stud. Just IMO! Of course emeralds are less sparkly for this reason.

1ct is absolutely not big and I think it's a standard size for daily wear. (1ct means .5ct per ear) I wouldn't go lower.

I personally want 1.5ct total weight.

I prefer martini studs too, they don't dangle as much.

1 ct/ ear, 2 ct total.

This is OP and my ignorance is showing! I meant 1ct per earring (2ct total)...is this over the top?

Are they real diamonds? I think that you'd have to be a very stylish dresser and wealthy to pull it off. Otherwise people will think they're fake. 2ct total is a lot, but not insane.

NP here. So you are asking about 2 ctw (ctw is carat total weight)?

I think it depends on your earlobe size.
Anonymous
Depends on your earlobe size, your hair, and your taste. Get some cheap cz studs and try them for size to figure out what you want.

Would be huge for me, but I have small lobes. You need to go to a B&M store and try different sizes. That's how I figured out what works

I prefer 4ct total weight. I do have long hair and usually style it down, so anything smaller tends to get lost.

Try them on. It depends on head and face size. I did .75 each b/c 1c each was too big. and my don't jut out...don't know the name of their setting.

Nope perfect size

I have a pair that is 1.4ct total weight and they are the perfect size for my somewhat big ears. I wore them on my wedding day and nearly every day since. I don't think I would like bigger ones, but I doubt 1ct per ear will look too big or gaudy.

Just note that apparently its against DCUM fashion etiquette to wear diamond studs in the daytime - it was news to me when I learned this!
