| My child is waitlisted at UNC-Chapel Hill for CS. Is it a good idea to write a letter indicating continued interest? If yes, what should go in the letter and what else can we submit them to convince? |

If UNC is your first choice and your child will definitely go if admitted, send a letter telling them that and have your school's college advisor do the same. |
| I personally would run as fast as possible away from CS at UNC |
Why would you say that? |

You again? |
The do not recommend it, but go for it and then assume acceptance isn't coming.

Dream on. Love the delusional aspect of UNC fans -- must be something in the Chapel Hill water. |
| Me again?? No I haven’t posted about UNC before. I am actually a UNC alum and the CS program recently revised admission requirements- you apply to be a CS major Spring semester and it is no where near guaranteed you will be accepting into the program. You write an essay and your application is “holistically reviewed” so much like applying to college all over again. I wouldn’t wager a bet on that. |

Are you in-state or OOS? You mention being an alum, and I wonder if being an OOS legacy child might help your child's chances of getting off the waitlist?
