Spring Break 2024 under $8k?

I thought DH and I would have to work, but it looks like we will be able to travel for Spring Break. I started searching and everything is so expensive. We are a family of 5. I would like 5-6 days somewhere. We can't do more than 4 hours in the car ride because DD gets very car sick, but flights are insane. Any ideas of where to go?? Ideally we would like to spend less than $8k??

You're a little late to the ball game. Flights for 5 are generally expensive, but I would see where you can fly cheapish and then rent a VRBO there - that's what I do for cheaper than a hotel.

I have no idea where you want to do go, but I'm going to SLC and I believe it will be less than $8K for my family of 5.

Idk if you're flying out of DC but I see flights for $312 each during the Sat to Sat of my kids' spring break right now. You could rent a house in Cocoa Beach. You might be able to do Universal for less than 8K.

For 8k you have a lot of options. I’m sure you could go to Florida or Puerto Rico. Maybe fly into Las Vegas and explore the Utah parks?

Driving would be easier to keep under budget, but a 4-hour drive limits you.

If you can go Tuesday to Tuesday, or something like that you get much more/further for your money. Also be flexible on which airport you are flying out of. I love using Google flights with nothing but dates and "Anywhere" as location. Good starting point.

Pro tip - I always book refundable flights and cancellable hotel even if I’m not sure we can go. That way if we can go I’m not stuck with last minute prices.

Under 8k for a spring break vacation? I can't even imagine. To me, 10k is a base price for spring break. Good luck.

Last week there was direct flight from Dulles to cayman for $431! You could stay in airbnb or hotel and be well under 8k
