Everyone we know who applied ED was either accepted or deferred.
Do not know anyone rejected. Anyone? |
| So many deferrals |
| Kinda nice, I guess. |
| Why give a kid a decision when you can keep them in suspense until May. |
| Deferrals stink-false hope-only about 10% ever get in through RD. |
I know several who were rejected last year.

DD is deferred. Seems like there is a lot of this going on this cycle.
Wondering what the stats of the deferral are. I will start: DD has: 4.5W, 34 ACT, leadership, arts and sports, checks all the boxes per our counselor. DD isn't: legacy, URM, applying for FA |

My husband’s theory is that kids they know are first choice/will accept they defer and use early round to catch other high achievers that might go to an Ivy or elsewhere.
My kid was deferred after bari ally being told by HS, AO etc he was a shoe in. He expressly stated love for school, connection and first choice. Some schools accept less or the same #s early round. It’s plausible. |
| Last year NU made a point of saying would accept or deny mostly in the ED round with few deferrals. Sounds like they shifted their strategy this year. |
What is unweighted and is it public or private? 4.5 weighted from MCPS would be way too low for NU. |
May? What are you talking about? Regular decisions are released in March. Any kid who is deferred goes into the regular decision pool and will have an acceptance or rejection in March. |
| I know three kids who got rejected ED |
New admissions director….some are questioning her background |
Or waitlist…a lot waitlisted last year too. NU focused solely on yield. |
| My kids good friend rejected. Solid stats. |
