High quality wool coat - navy or camel

I have a 10 year old navy Italian wool coat I bought in London and I have been trying to replace it for the last the three years without success. This year, the situation is dire, it just looks ragged.

Can anyone recommend a great, high quality wool coat, ideally above the knee length and with a defined waist, although I’m willing to look at anything at this point. Budget is up to $700.

I had this problem and a good answer is Cinzia Rocca, but you might have to find one on sale to fit the budget. Honestly I think it’s just what it costs to buy a good wool coat.

Brooks brothers has a 100% camel hair car coat for a reduced price of $900 if that length suits you. Usually prices go to 50% off the original price right after Christmas, which would put this in budget. They also have a more expensive longer length one that would be just over budget at 50% off, but they seem to be down to just one size available.

Would love to hear from those who have invested in a MaxMara coat--is it truly worth the investment? Which style? Camel or cashmere?I've been eyeing them for years (and looking on Poshmark and the RealReal) ... but haven't brought myself to buy one yet!
