In terms of entertainment? Yes, for that I am VERY shallow. I want everyone I look at to be gorgeous on tv shows or movies. If they're not, they damn well better be a phenomenal actor.

He is objectively attractive -- he has nice, symmetrical features, kind eyes, a good head of hair, and he's successful in a creative field. Her previous boyfriend was hotter in the way you would probably prefer, but he also spent four years in prison for fraud and all indications are that it came as a huge shock to Hathaway. I think it's nice she found a stable, kind person to build a life with after that.

He might not be the kind of guy who interests you, but he's not ugly and he seems like a very decent human being. Hathaway is a movie star, and has a very specific kind of hit-you-over-the-head beauty that is pretty rare. Short of marrying another movie star (and they aren't all nice, and wouldn't all be a good fit for her personally, so your shrinking her dating pool down to almost nothing), it's unlikely she could marry someone you consider to be attractive enough for her.
