Please help. I can hear a squirrel above me in a crawlspace between ceiling and attic. It was in the same spot a few months ago, so we got an estimate from a wildlife company for $4700 to remove the squirrel by a "one-way door" and repair the area where the squirrel is getting in. The squirrel noise went away so we didn't do anything. I started hearing it again yesterday and all day today. Is this really a $4700 repair?? Any thoughts or guidance is much appreciated.

| And if this is helpful, we are in DC and have tall trees all around us so this problem of squirrels getting into house won't be going away |
| How much of that was removal and how much was repair? If you need something repointed to prevent access that might be a good price. |

Squirrel removal estimate is about $250

| Call a pest control removal company and see if they can remove but that doesn’t solve how they are getting in… contractor ? |

That is insanity OP! Wait until it's gone again, then call a handyman to board it up. Or call a pest control company + handyman.
You're not going to pay the same amount as a trip to Italy, to get rid of a squirrel! Stop it. |
| Are you in the DC area? Call Adcock’s to remove the squirrel. Then get a handyman to assess how to patch the entry point. |
| For that much, I would bring the squirrel a basket of acorns and make peace with the squatter upstairs. |
| I love squirrels, but it's super easy to stick a trap up there, grab him and then relocate him yourself. Just make sure to drive a few miles, because they CAN and WILL return right to your house. |

When we had a squirrel, we figured out where it was getting in and then, after we knew it was out, sealed it with a can of spray foam.
It took some observation on our part and a few days.... |
That pest armour stuff is $100/ foot, how much are they installing lol https://www.homedepot.com/p/PEST-ARMOR-1-4-in-Woven-Steel-Exclusion-L-Mesh-Pest-Protection-RAML350/323870147 |
| I got rid of a squirrel in my ceiling with cottonballs soaked in peppermint oil. It's a deterrent and they will move out on their own. |
| They do not serve DC itself, but you might get some good advice and a cheaper referral if you call Jesse James Critter Gitters. They know what they are doing and are super nice. |
| That's insane. |
