The online tutoring company that FCPS is using was recently sold to a Chinese company. The personal information of all children who used Tutor.com is now available to Chinese authorities - including names . This is particularly worrisome for the children of Uyghur and Tibetan parents, Chinese dissidents and other people at risk of being targeted by the Chinese government. Moreover, any privately owned software company used by kids in FCPS could be sold - along with the personal data of kids.
In addition, the same Chinese company purchased the Princeton Review - so they have all the data including address, email address and telephone number (and schools to which they are applying) of any person who registers for the SAT, LSAT, MCAT or GRE.
I'm no tech expert, but shouldn't this raise more concern that it has?
