| Why is there a speed camera at Chesterbrook Elementary? I thought they were not allowed in VA? Only DC and MD. |
| Is it ticketing or merely telling you your speed? |
| This was published a while back, they are allowed by the law. I think there are 5 schools with them. |
| Excellent idea. Is there one at Langley HS yet? Or McLean HS? |
|
I would like to see cameras all along Westmoreland from Longfellow to Mclean. This afternoon a driver passed me in the left turning lane going over 50 mph as they approached the Mclean HS school zone. I see drivers routinely blow through the crosswalks while kids are still in them.

| Fairfax City has had speed cameras by its schools for at least a year. Virginia changed the law. |
I would like to see a lot of speed humps along Westmoreland starting from Chain Bridge/Westmoreland and pass Haycock ES. That will cover Haycock, Long Fellow, and Mclean HS. This is in addition to speed cameras. |
| They need one at Spring Hill Elem. People are going 50 in a 25mph school zone. |
do you have a radar gun? It’s amazing to me all the public citizens without radar who can tell out her cars speeds. Without speeding themselves of course.. |
| there also needs to be a blinking light crosswalk near where you cross for Kent gardens. |
| The Chesterbrook camera doesn’t seem to be on or working. Also, why are the speed signs that are capable of flashing during school hours never “flash” ? |
| They should be near all the schools. Yes, one near Langley would be great. But I would be happy if the county would put a damn crosswalk across Georgetown Pike. Tons of kids who walk to school take their lives in their hands just to get there. |
| Does the camera get cars going both ways? Or just passing one direction? |
Report it to FCDOT/VDOT. The school zone speed limit signs near me all flash. |
