Why is there no media coverage of the on campus armed robbery of multiple studentsvat Eliot Hine Middle School? This should be national news.

I hate that this happened but it happened OUTSIDE of the school and no one was injured. Sounds like the school handled it appropriately. Not sure it really rises to the level of national news. |
It should be DC news though. The robbers went to another school (Ballou) first. Armed robbers targeting schools at dismissal is kind of disturbing. |
| This is shocking and needs public attention. |
True. No bike lanes or pickle ball courts were hurt, so move along. |
Didn’t you find out about it through local media? |
| Horrible! My kids are at another dcps middle. This is out of control! Recall the whole damn council! |
| Seems a little early to be outraged at “no one covering” something that happened day before yesterday and was covered on the local news you linked… |
Exactly. Complete failure of leadership. |
No. Through Twitter. |
Hillrag is basically a blog, not even local news. |
I don’t blame the media for not wanting to leave upper NW. Would be so on DC brand to go cover an armed robbery only to have the news van car jacked. How did we let ourselves get back to this place? |
Sorry, what? That's just dumb and lazy. What would you have them have done to have prevented this? If you don't want to contribute to a reasonable public policy discussion then sit down and let the adults talk. |
I mean, crime is a major public safety issue. I don't think it's crazy to think the people who are in charge of the city have some responsibility and should do something about it. Also I don't see this comment contributing to a "reasonably public policy discussion" at all. If anything, the opposite - seeking to silence people who are unhappy. |
City Council can’t magically create police applicants. |
