I am moving to Bethesda in 3 weeks and I am starting to have major anxiety about not knowing where I will get my 4 day a week spin class fix!!!
Please tell me where the hot gyms are in Bethesda with great spin teachers and facilities!! I can feel my cellulite laughing at my worry of not being able to workout!!! HELP ME WORKOUT JUNKIES IF YOU ARE OUT THERE!!! |
| dont know the answer to that question but all the SAHMs in workout clothes hang out at Sweetgreen. Not sure if they actaully work out or just wear the clothes but maybe they are in the know. |
|
| Sweetgreen is a salad and yogurt place on Bethesda Avenue. Good food. Seems to be the gathering place for SAHMs of Bethesda. |
| I'm in VA, so I can't answer your question, but welcome to the area! I hope you love it here. |
|
it is a feisty night, isn't it?
|
| thank you for the warm welcome VA! I hope so too- with three little ones, I am going to feel like I am juggling knives for a bit whilst I figure out the lay of the land...but my hubby is from the general area- so it will be nice for my kids to grow up close to the grandparents! |

i do think something is in the urban mom water tonight! did you read the "what do stay at home moms do all day postings???"
shocking that all these people complaining of such little time have loads of time to tear up others! maybe my nyc roots and thick skin will be well served for swimming in these shark infested waters! |
I've seen RHNYC, you don't fool me, NYCMOM! You'll eventually get catty or have a breakdown, LOL! |
|
nycmom here- and very funny- but first- those ladies are not real housewives- those would be what we call momzillas on park ave! and secondly- sure I have meltdowns- but not on random blogs picking on total strangers! For god's sakes- I take it all out on my husband and a glass of wine, or if things are really proving a bad day- I never saw a glass of vodkas and club that didnt brighten up a miserable momma o a girls just gotta get a night out! so- please- let's be honest!! because that is what real mommies do! unless they are trying to impress everyone with some sort of super mommie abilities and feel better or superior to everyone else!
I have resigned myself to the truth of this whole parent gig- and turns out- there is no award at the end of our lives for doing it all ourselves, no badge of honor or merrit awards for being the pissed off maryter with self pity and resentment...so really-the best mommie advice is to take one day at a time- do the best you can and whatever it takes just to get through a day! Which is why I need a good gym rec- yes i googled- but that does not tell me where the mommies I might want to becomee real friends with workout! so I was hoping for suggestions from people of the places they like in Bethesda... anyone???? |

Hi....Bethesda SAHM here....there is a new Equinox opening very soon in downtown Bethesda......I belonged to one MANY years ago when I lived in NYC....there is also Sport and Health (which I used to go to....it's pretty good....nice spinning room....but, I don't spin so can't say if instructors are good or not) They have been renovating for the past 6 months....I stopped going around that time so not sure if reno's are complete yet.

| Washington Sports Club has a spinning room... and it's walking distance to Sweetgreen : ). I have no idea who takes the classes but I thought it might help you to get an actual answer to your question. Welcome to the DC area! |

| nyc mom here- thank you everyone! finally something I can go check out! thanks! |
| I think it does depend on where you are specifically and how much you want to spend, but equinox, sport and health and fitness first are all possibilities. This board is (IME) nothing like "real life" (or should I say "face to face"?) so try not to distracted by all the noise. |
