Liberty Mutual Home Insurance Policy doubled premium - no claims

I think I saw someone post about umbrella policy increasing. This is Liberty Mutual and it doubled! This is unbelievable. Anyone else in Virginia? We have a small 2200 sq ft home.

That’s ridiculous. I don’t know how middle class can survive.

Get a quote from Amica.

Mine doubled, but we got a new roof, so figured that was why. Also in VA.

If you got a new roof it should decrease. Insurance rates are high because so many people use insurance to replace their old roof.

We had a strange increase one year, but that was because the flood plain maps for our area were redrawn and we were marked at a higher risk than previously.

Not about you. Liberty mural recouping investment losses. Does no one understand how insurance works? They are just collecting your premiums and then doling them out for claims. It’s capital they invest with, and investing has been miserable this year.

The insurance covered it, partially. So that's why it went up. They want some of their money back.

OP. We were with Amica for 15 years and no claims and the rates kept going up so switched to LM (as car was with Geico) but this is a bait and switch in 2 yrs basically.

If you use a broker you can get a quote from Erie.

There’s a roofing company that knocks on doors in my neighborhood and says they can get insurance to cover a roof replacement. I didn’t known this was a thing.
