| I got three emails today with request for payment for COVID test we did back in April. BCBS sent us the checks as they are out of network. I know there were several old threads on this issue and wondering if any one else got a bill. |
No. We either paid up front at the time of registration (if it was the quick turn around results option) or it went through my Carefirst BCBS. I've noticed at least with our BCBS plan, over the last 3-5 years there are far more "shared" or "coinsurance" related costs than ever before. So if they are out of network, you may owe much more than a BCBS negotiated rate. |
You aren't supposed to bank in the checks that BCBS sent you. They are meant for YOU to pay Sameday Health since they are out of network. For in network, insurance pays the provider directly. For out of network, they sends you a check and you pay the provider. |
| No because my insurance always pays them. I have had times where payment comes to me, and then you use that to pay the provider. You can’t just bank the checks for yourself. |
How do you pay the provider before you get a bill? |
| No. They filed with my blue cross insurance even though they are out of network. My EOB shows that insurance paid a fraction of what was billed, but I've never gotten a bill. |

We finally got one from Personic and they said it was delinquent even though it was the first one. We tried to get the remaining bills from the person but they said they couldn’t.
We got checks from BCBS many months ago. We held onto them waiting for a bill. Finally called BCBS and they told us to cash the checks and wait for a bill. I hated cashing those checks even though they told us to. We actually stopped using Personic because the lack of billing was a hassle. Personic uses some third party biller; maybe Same Day uses the same company and they’re finally doing their job? |
| Has anyone found their billing info on Sameday Health site? We received checks from out insurance months ago and I still haven't received a bill from Sameday. No emails, no text and I just logged onto the site and there is no amount owed info. They have a billing link where you need a code which is not on the downloadable results still in my account. We used the quite a few times and all my info is in there correctly but zero contact about billing. |
Well, according to BCBS the checks were made payable to ME and we were told to deposit them. And, if the provider reached out to us for payment, we should pay them directly. I've also had this many times with our dental as BCBS pays a small portion of the bill. |
There is nothing on the website or my app. I just got a random email from a company called Flowflex/Signal Diagnostic. It seemed odd but they attached a copy of my EOB and had all my insurance info, so its probably legit. I don't know why they didn't send it via snail mail. |
OK, then use the funds deposited to pay the provider. For out of network providers, you know the time will come for request for payment. Nothing new. |

I got a letter from Kaiser Permanente saying that one testing DD did last year in 2021 was not covered... even though we all tested at the same time, for international travel, and none of the 3 others received the same letter. I will ignore it, since we did the FREE Covid testing with insurance. |
| Nope. We either paid up front when we had to rush or put through insurance. We haven't heard a peep if it wasn't covered. |
| I was just looking at all my claims for the year, and thought it interesting that different covid test places were paid different amounts---Sameday vs CVS for example. I don't care, since I didn't pay a dime, but still thought it was odd. |
Like the insurer, I have a policy about how late the bill can be before it’s written off. |
