| Anyone have first hand experience with Bobbi Brown's new venture in makeup? |
| I just got my order in the mail yesterday. I got the under eye concealer pencil and the miracle Baum. Eh, and eh so far. The miracle Baum has no fragrance to it, so it actually smells kind of bad because of that...like melted crayons. I can't say it gave me a no makeup makeup look that I wanted. I got it in the shade Tawny and I think Magic Hour would look better, so I asked for an exchange and they processed the exchange and told me to keep the Tawny. The under eye pencil is fine. |
| That’s funny, I hate the miracle balm BECAUSE of the fragrance! I think it smells strong and floral and old-ladyish (but to be fair I hate all fragranced products). I also don’t really get the miracle of the balm! I bought some of the eye makeup too and it’s nice, not holy grail amazing but i like it. |
That almost makes me think something is wrong with mine bc of the smell being what it is. I’ll update when I get the second one if it smells differently! |
| I'm really happy with it so far. I got the miracle balm in dusty rose, a couple of skin pencils, and the mascara. Love the miracle balm and use it on my lips and cheeks. I like the precision of the skin pencils and the mascara is crazy good. Day-to-day I'm a minimalist and I don't wear foundation, and this line is perfect for me. When I want a more 'done' look, I pull out the rest of my eyeliner, shadows, etc. |
NP. It might just be a difference in scent interpretation. I have zero interest in purchasing the product because I don’t put any of the following ish on my face: “Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Fruit Oil, Rosmarinus Officianlis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Oil.” I guess Sea Buckthorn I would, but certainly not geranium oil. I have tried the under eye pencil and the eyeshadow so far. The undereye pencil absolutely needs moisturizer immediately before application (or at least it does in winter in the Midwest), but I really like how it looks. I got color 2 and it’s perfect. The base is clear, so there’s none of the white powdery “ghosting” effect I get in some brands, but I’ll probably get 5 for summer and my dark circles. The eyeshadow is amazing. It goes on like a normal powder, but almost acts like it’s “tacky;” I didn’t need a primer and it lasted hours on me. Usually eyeshadows disappear on me. I did try it over another brand and the Jones Road needs to be in contact with the skin as it came off as fast as the other brand beneath. Hopefully she brings out lipsticks soon and I wish the site had better swatches, because that part really sucks. |
| It’s for young gorgeous people. |
This exactly. I can't wear it because of the smell. |

I ordered the Miracle Balm and a lip balm.
The MB was sort of disgusting. It was waxy, and I honestly have no idea how anyone who is pre-menopausal could use it regularly and not breakout. Thank you PP for posting the ingredients. That makes sense!! The lip balm was very pigmented and left a nice stain on the lips - but it also slid around everywhere (kinda watery) so the staining became a liability. You don’t want lip stain you can’t really remove beneath your bottom lip!! |
| I’m big on natural/minimalist makeup but was very underwhelmed by jones road. The stuff I got seemed cheap and will not replace any of my go tos. My best friend didn’t like it either and tried to warn me but I was very sucked in by their advertising! Haha |
| What are your go to's. Looking for inspiration. |

Ilia color haze for a matte blush, kjaer weis blush for gorgeous cream blush shades. Ilia or vapor beauty multi stick.
I like the ilia liquid powder eye tint in warm champagne and rose gold for all over eyelid color OR the westman atelier super loaded highlighter in peau de peche. Looking for more good sheer wash of color eyeshadow options though. Ilia again for concealer, or ritual de file. For lip, I change favorites all the time but right now it’s indie lee nourishing lip tint. I use the ilia serum drops too for face. |
| I love it. Big fan of their stick concealers, miracle balm, eye shadow, mascara, and the blush. It’s really good quality stuff! |
I’m the PP who posted the ingredients and that was just a partial list - just the ones likely to be scented/irritating. I’m sorry, I forgot to do “[…].” |
| I like the face pencil, but I’m as/more likely to just reach for my Bobbi brown foundation stick. The pencil kind of feels like a lot of work but it really blends wonderfully. I also like the eye pencil but I would say most eye pencils seem the same to me. I didn’t care for the balm at all. The mascara is fine, nothing special. |
