Private school switch for DD’s friend

That's your opinion. I and most of the people I know would never send their kids to Catholic school even if it were free because the math and science education is so poor.

+1. Not only that but I also things it a negative to raise kids whose only peers are UMC whites and Asians.

What is poor is your lack of understanding of what is being taught. Not every Catholic school is the same and not every Catholic school is bad or great. Just like your kids' schools, some are good and some are crappy. Deal with it. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Lmao about previous posters saying some parents are racist because there are not brown and black kids at Catholic, where they live. I live in an affluent suburb and the Catholic schools are more diverse in half the county than the public elementary schools. Some of you are dense and have zero perspective other than the mean streets of your exurb.

It’s not just racial diversity the schools lack. It’s socioeconomic and academic diversity. You don’t want your kids at school with poor kids or kids with learning disabilities. Which is fine if you admit it, what’s hypocritical is pretending otherwise.

Our Catholic school is more diverse than the public school and about a third of the kids are getting aid to attend because they are low income families. They also have pullouts to help with reading and math. The only thing that is correct is there are no severe special needs or behaviors present.
We also use real textbooks and don't waste an entire period on SEL which according to the school board consists of meditation and anti bullying strategies. Our religion period is more valuable in my opinion.

No, but we are absolutely choosing a public 4-year institution for this reason. You are allowed to be a snob. Just not a hypocritical one.
