Get some cones at Berthillon.

The art museum at the Petit Palais. It's free and wasn't crowded when we visited at the height of summer. The building is amazing.

+3 to Belleville

Honestly, once you’ve been to Paris a few times I think the best thing to is get lost and wander around. No plan whatsoever.

Do you like fancy food? If I were looking for vegetarian food I would definitely want to eat at Arpege. I would definitely want to eat at Arpege anyway actually and I don’t even like vegetables!

Couple of ideas:

If the 18 year old (or you) is even vaguely interested in technology/science, then this is a really great Museum that is often overlooked:

Near the end of the tour is Foucault's Pendulum, which is amazing to see. More on that here:

For a really amazing selection of steaks and other dishes (go hungry):

The have a "steak frites" with a "relais" sauce which is arguably better than L'Entrecote.

The Louis Vuitton foundation currently has an unbelievably comprehensive Rothko exhibit. It's extremely unlikely that there will ever be a time when this many Rothko's are all in one place ever again. And the building itself (Louis Vuitton) is extraordinary:

Sunset dinner or drinks at the Trocadero - I haven’t been post-COVID, but they used to have street performers entertaining while the Eiffel Tower lit up

Day trip to Versailles - Not unusual, but worth it if you haven’t been

Sites like Get Your Guide have tours with experiences you’d never think of

Do you all enjoy fashion? There are a bunch of ateliers that are really beautiful.

We did a bakery tour that was a highlight of our trip. The link isn’t working for me to paste for some reason but search on Viator for “ Paris French Bakery Behind the Scenes Experience”.

Sit in a cafe and people watch. Do nothing and just relax. This is something that I guess Americans need to practice? It's always things to see? Most of Europe is beautiful and interesting. It's about enjoying your food, company and scenery. Just enjoy sitting and looking around!!

This is what we do. Plan nothing and just walk around or sit around.

We loved getting food to go at Monoprix and having a picnic along the Seine. Not an unusual thing to do, but a nice break from sightseeing.
