I too think she comes across just fine in her posts. The women criticizing her are probably jealous of her looks. |
Joan is a widow and that's a plus. The producers were undoubtedly freaked out about Gerry's ex going public. Imagine how many exes Leslie has who might want a little cash for their story. |
Joan does best parallel Gerry, but would her dates be super boring? They showed almost none of her date with Gerry. I think she's very nice but her dates might be "talky" rather than active and fun. Could be a snooze. |
Why would anyone be jealous of Joan’s looks? She’s one of the least attractive of all the women on the show. She’s just thin and blonde. |
Oh come one. She's the type a lot of men like, blonde and willowy. Good style. She'd be very pretty if she'd leave her poor face alone. |
Joan would be nice and mature, I think, but that would not make for good tv. Probably same with Faith. Producers will want at least a dollop of Leslie messiness. I'd be surprised if it's not her, for this and several other reasons. But I pretty much like all of them except Kathy, have no dog in this fight. Will watch regardless! |
Leslie is the worst.
|
lol. We found one of the jealous people ^^. |
This, not only does Leslie have tons of red flags, I'm quite sure she has lots of skeletons in the closet. Way too much risk with her |
I don't get the people pulling for Susan. Her teeth, ack. It's like the Ross tooth whitening ep from Friends. And her smoker and booze-swilling voice. Fun and nice (seeming) but not appealing as a romantic lead at all. |
Believe it or not, we don’t all find the same things attractive. I don’t find Joan beautiful and would not want to look like her. I’d rather look like Leslie, Faith, Edith, Marina, Cristina, and Nancy. As for what men like, their opinions also vary, but Joan does have a look generally more appreciated by women than men. She’s sinewy and has no sex appeal. |
Agree the producers will not want boring. |
Gerry was as boring, middle-class middle-America, as they come. If it weren't for all the crying, he could hardly be said to have any personality at all. Well, he was nice, but even that's now debatable. All the excitement came from the women competing for Gerry's roses. And that was OK. Leslie is the opposite end of that, making all the wrong choices then feeling sorry for herself, and I don't think they want that either. Faith gets on a motorcycle, rides her horse, and gets out. I actually know nothing about Joan's hobbies, maybe she excels in cocktail party conversation in which case she'd be boring, but maybe she has some great hobbies, I just don't know. |
Same. My mid-20s daughter isn't interested in Leslie either. Too much unnecessary drama followed by self-pity. |
Drama and messy make for the best seasons! You can say all you want that you "won't watch" --- but you will!
To watch real/authentic people like Nancy or Susan find love again would be great. But, I get it -- they wouldn't be messy enough. And there are some who say that these two are not "traditionally pretty enough." Do we HAVE TO follow the OG Bachelorette formula where the lead HAS to look like a model? Isn't the point of Golden Bach to break the mould and be more "real"? Joan would fit into the OG mode. She would essentially be a blank slate that the contestants could project their romantic imaginations onto. And her face is literally A BLANK SLATE. I can't see why the producers would want to put her as the lead when she has no way to show emotion in her face (unless they are able to un-do the surgical work that is causing the blank-slate look). Leslie is great for messy. Nancy would be great for real-ness and grace. Susan is a lot to handle -- but maybe they could find men who like a big personality. They could simply search around for another unknown -- there have to be plenty of women in the golden age who take care of themselves and are looking for love. On the whole, the lead is supposed to look nice and interact well, and show lots of emotion. Joan looks nice, but I don't think she has enough energy/spunk to carry the load of being the Lead, and she certainly wouldn't be showing a lot of emotion. It's Leslie, or Faith or someone unknown. |
