Np. Just wait. You weren’t addicted to alcohol at the beginning either were you? The addiction creeps up. |
Can you buy this legally now in MD? Or DC? |
But is it an addiction if it's only happening once a month and not a "tripping" amount? That's like saying someone drinking once glass of wine a month needs to stop... |
No, but there's plenty of legit websites that you can buy from and have it shipped, unless you're paranoid. Imo, feds have bigger issues than an individual eating mushroom chocolate. The one I bought from did require an ID upload. |
Op here. Mushrooms are not new to me. It's just the first time that I've taken them more than 1-3x a year. If I find myself taking them more often, it won't be hard to stop buying due to the fact that it's way less available than alcohol. Where I live, you can buy hard liquor in target. |
I understand this (NP). Similar traumatic experiences in childhood which are usually made worse by involvement in AA (which means unquestioning obeying of authority, self-flagellation, and other decidedly unhealthy and dysfunctional behaviors). The fact that this is considered to be the gold standard for addiction treatment in the US is beyond absurd. Good for you OP. Happy to hear something is working for you. |
You are an addict. All I hear is a bunch of excuses about why you don’t want to quit. I’m sorry you haven’t lost your children yet. Please get help for them. No kid should grow up with an addict parent. |
You are a jerk (NP) |
You are a jerk (another NP). The abstinence approach and AA work great, when they work. That's not for all people with substance abuse problems. there is actual research that shows a harm reduction approach works for some -- research, not just blind faith and shaming people who disagree with you -- from the US, Canada, and other places. AA isn't very amenable for research, for obvious reasons. But the research that has been done shows it is very effective for some, but that for many, other approaches are better. Yes, that is different than what you cling to, but so be it. Stop bullying PP for not being you. |
i dont see why this is any worse than SSRI. if something makes you feel better and doesn't interfere with health or ability to function then why not? prob has fewer side fx than ssri |
whoever posted this is the one who needs therapy. |
