Torrid? I order ship-to-store for free, then try on at the store and return on the spot if necessary. |

What now? Talbots maybe, but Ann Taylor has been a staple for 20s-40s women who need to dress business casual for quite sometime. |
OP here. 5’3 and 52 years old. Pretty conservative dresser. Finding it extremely hard to find a good fit or style anywhere. People mentioned Torrid and Lane Bryant, but I haven’t lived their quality or designs.
Anyone try out some of the newer online retailers that don’t have retail stores? |
I was going to suggest JJill. I’m a 1x to 2x these days and they are my go-to store these days. |
It's rare when they design larger sizes properly. I hate it when they think a plus-size woman is going to have skinny thin arms. They probably don't think, that's the problem. |
At that height, you'd have a more limited range of clothing options even without the extra weight. What size do you take? Some lines have larger sizes but stop at a 1x or 2x. Talbots has a Plus Petite line that goes up to 3XP. They're the only ones I can think of. You may want to search for some petite plus size influencers on Instagram to see what lines they're wearing. Getting the proportions right is so important. Oh, and Universal Standard also has a few petite pieces that go up to sizes 38-40. |
Universal Standard, Eloquii, Marina Rinaldi, Girlfriend Collective, Kiyonna, Eileen Fisher |
I buy Talbots new with tags on Ebay at substantial discounts. |
I have seen Kiyonna recommended on here before. They have some very appealing styles. I am 14-16P and don't wear dresses much so I haven't ordered anything yet. However, the styles might suit OP. https://www.kiyonna.com/ |
They are great for dressy plus size clothes. I’ve bought several pieces that I love. |
The prices in the stores are often lower than to 40% off on line |
I buy clothes from Anthro and JCrew online. They don't have everything in my size, but they have a lot. |
You thought right. |
