Not at all. Team 1 is the top team, Team 2 is 2nd best, and so on. Team 1 plays in the top bracket of the tournament.

There are different brackets?

Is this even a serious question? How has your child gotten this far??

Exactly right. One should really be better informed on what your kid is trying out for.

Most people have never heard of this tournament.

If most people haven't heard of this tournament, then why all the fuss over it and on this particular thread dedicated solely to it?

Most girls who are being considered for or hoping for top schools have heard of this tournament. Its a big deal for the kick-off of their summer recruiting before their junior year. Anything before then is really a bit of a waste, but its very good and very competitive especially as you move up the east coast. DC won it for the first time in a while last year I believe, but its a great one for the girls and because there are multiple teams for a region - a, b and c (I think), this helps the college coaches figure out who they should be looking at or have a chance at. Its definitely worthwhile.

…except if you’re on D or E.

Correct.

More like C, D and E. Not so sure B is even getting looked at either. A should get some looks. That’s what this tourney is intended to do. Team A likely has the 25’s that haven’t committed yet and are trying to get looks.

Do you all feel better for getting this off your collective chest?

Congratulations to everyone who threw a fit and refused to play - DC now only has 4 teams. I guess you win - coaches who are just trying to make ends meet lose.

What happened? Did team 5 fold or get moved up?
Anonymous
Should max out at 2-3 teams. Seriously teams 3 and 4 should be optional as well now.

Great, maybe you can tell your secret source to get off her dead ass and send the goddamn information.

So girls should play so that the coaches can make ends meet? Instead maybe the results should be made public and the coaches in charge shouldn’t be so shady and then they wouldn’t be in this mess.

How do you know this and what has happened? Were the remaining players on Team 4 and Team 5 combined?

If team 4 is combined, how many players are there? Doesn’t seem fair in terms of playing time. What the heck are we paying for? Please just cut all lower teams. No one should be required to play on those.
