What’s going on with her? Her latest posts have been very troubling. Hope everyone is ok.

Maybe Heather Armstrong is contagious.

I’m thinking maybe her husband cheated. She specifically mentioned that the kids are okay but didn’t mention her DH.

I hope not. They actually seem normal, and a real family. I have teens the same age and so relate to her posts.

Yeah I think the husband maybe cheated or is asking for a divorce. Whatever it is, I feel so bad for her!

What's the deal with the leading posts though? I hate that. Just say what is going on or be quiet.

Where? On her blog? Instagram?

It's on her IG. I wish her well. I love that she supports her daughter realizing she is gay and she is promoting that yes, you can love God, be religious and be gay. I just hate vague blogging. Either share or don't. I think too often these bloggers use their own pain to manipulate others into giving them more views. She asks people not to pry. The simple way to keep people at bay is to not bring it up in the first place.

She is sharing struggles without harming another person. I think what she is doing is fine. It's a difficult position to be a leader in that community, go silent, and then suffer something profound and not even mention it. She is trying to acknowledge pain without making it a "story" that exposes others. It's admirable and human and the best option to take in her position. Prayers to her.

Vague blogging gets lots of virtual hugs and energy from followers. "I don't know what's going on but WE LOVE YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You got this, girl!"

Your community of support during your hardest times should not be a list of screen names. If you won't say what's happening (which is absolutely appropriate to keep private 99% of the time) then don't leak out little hints that you're sad, BUT STRONG; suffering, BUT OVERCOMING; lost, BUT FINDING YOUR WAY!! Just go deal with it like an adult.

I'm on the road to hell with you, PP. This made me laugh out loud.

I lump her in with Glennon Doyle. Same vibe. An annoying one.

Normal couples and real families face infidelity. Not uncommon

This is a problem that public figures who are "faith leaders" or life advice-types face. Do they keep everything private and only suggest to the world that their social media perfection is their real life. Or did they try to find a balance between acknowledging their real profound struggles and preserving the dignity/privacy of third parties. It seems she is trying to walk that line.

I don't think she's milking anything for attention. She gets plenty of positive attention, she doesn't need this kind. She's sharing vulnerability.

Leaders don't need to and should not spill all the dirty details but acknowledging everyone is touched by struggles can be powerful.

Treating her like just a mommy blogger seeking attention is disrespectful her role as an important and influential faith leader in our culture.

Long post today thanking everyone under the sun for her birthday love. References to sobbing and ongoing drama. No wedding rings in various pictures. Whatever happened with Brandon was swift and severe. Six weeks ago she was gushing about their relationship.
