You're what, 45 years old and still missing the point? |
The internet will continue to work. It is a matter of how it will work, the impact of the ability to favor those who pay or affiliates will have on innovation, and the ability of large ISPs to extract monopoly rents for their control over the terminating link to millions of end users edge providers need. It is not something you will see in the internet breaking down and stopping delivering basic functionality. Favoring monopoly control is not actually a good thing even if you can still buy the widget, it harms incentives for long term innovation. |
Hey. January 5 and a Comcast customer just received a letter offering “upgraded service” for certain sites - for a price. http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/693815.page |
The PP you quoted is such a dingus. |
Yup. Unfortunately this country is full of them, that’s why we have a president who appointed this ahole Verizon flunky who repealed net neutrality. |
State of California suing the FCC regarding the net neutrality repeal:

The senate has 50 who are supporting a vote to overturn the FCC.
1 more and net neutrality would be restored. |
Yes! Call your Senators! We need to get this overturned! |
And Ajit Pai needs to be investigated for collusion with ISPs. |
Who’s the R who’s in favor? |
OK, would it be a bad thing if there was a one lane toll road that was extremely expensive so very few people could use it, and it was the only direct route to down town from Virginia -- all other roads were routed through West Virginia and Baltimore before eventually winding their way downtown, but you could only use those roads 2 days per week unless you bought a yellow car, which by the way now costs more than any other color car, and please expect construction and traffic jams all the time, especially since the speed limit will be randomly changed frequently, but most often will be below 10 miles per hour. |
Aha, it’s Susan Collins. http://thehill.com/policy/technology/369094-dems-say-they-have-50-votes-in-senate-to-overrule-fccs-net-neutrality?rnd=1516110581 |

Good to hear! |
Looks like some good news but mostly bad: https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2019/10/01/appeals-court-upholds-trump-administrations-cancelling-net-neutrality-rules/ |
