We have had problems with Netflix streaming for the past few months, probably starting late summer (coincidentally not long after net neutrality was repealed). Shows stop midstream and have to reload. We have Fios internet and never noticed problems before this, and we have not made any changes to our Fios service. And it's only Netflix -- Hulu and Amazon Prime are fine. Anyone else having this problem? I don't mean to be cynical, but is Fios is purposely slowing Netflix content? It's gotten so bad, and Verizon is so unresponsive, that I am on the verge of filing an FCC complaint. |
I have fios, and noticed that same problem, too, over the summer. TV had a pending update that needed to install manually, but everything was fine after that. |
I was having similar problems this summer. It turned out to be my samsung "smart" tv dropping its wifi connection. I switched to using a fire tv stick to watch netflix, amazon and hulu and haven't had a problem since. |
No issues here, and we have the cheapest "slow" FIOS that they told me wouldn't stream anything. |
do you have the Fios Quantam Gateway router. We do, and its been a huge headache. Paying for upgraded speed and many nights we can't even watch shows on our ipads in bed just 20 FEET AWAY (one drywall wall between bedroom and the router) |
We access Netflix on channel 838 on FIOS much better. |
Yep, same issue. Also, Fios worked great for a while upstairs and then stopped... router is downstairs, and I called, got a new router and now they are saying it is not good signal...bla, bla, but it was good for a long while and now nothing can be done about it?! But, Netflix, yes, stops and I have to keep reloading. Other sites work well, though. |
What are you doing about it and which router would you recommend? We have the same issue. Thanks. |
