Nerf guns for 6-7 year old boys?

Anonymous
What do you guys think? My son loves them. He’s 6.5

Ask the parents.

Please don’t start another trump-stupid debate on toy guns.

Just ask the kid’s parents.

Not here. We got one as a gift and it disappeared.

Perfect gift for boys that age.

I started out with a no gun house (no need guns, no water guns, etc). After donating many (received as gifts), I eventually caved.

Can’t avoid it. Boys will make guns out of string beans if they have to . You get the point.

Yes, nerf guns are awesome. We still have a big bin of them and even as a family break them out. Tons of fun.

We also have lightsabers, blasters, pop guns, allow laser tag parties, and video games in moderation.

Just ask the parents. My boys wouldn’t like them - they are totally into sports.

Ask the parents. Do not ask here. How could we possibly know what this kid would like?!

You are trump -stupid and trolling. Nothing more.

I’ve never met a boy or girl IRL not allowed to play with nerf guns. Or it’s very possible they don’t go on many play dates because I’ve never been asked if we have nerf guns in the house.

My kids would love them. We haven't bought them. If my kid got one as a gift I would accept it and hope you bought my kid two so I don't have to listen to my kids fight over it.

Yep, you can't avoid them. They will keep coming in. And if those get thrown away, you better also throw away your rubber bands, staple guns, tree branches, sticks, elbow macaroni, legos and play doh.

Same in my house, although I don't think any of them came as gifts from friends (some from grandparents and aunts, others we bought). Just ask the parents if they are ok with them.

Make sure you know at least a little bit about the parents. I have two boys and a ton of nerf guns. They have fun with them on occasion when friends come over. No worries. I also have a friend who is confrontational about it when her DS receives a nerf or water gun as a gift. She'll confront the parents who gave the gift. I totally respect the parents who quietly give the gift away but you don't want to have to deal with the confrontational parent over something as trivial as a child's gift.
