My kids and all their friends were super into them for one season around that age. It was like a neighborhood wave, similar to pokemon, cards, fidget spinners, etc. They and most friends got nerf guns, had some epic neighborhood battles and a few months later moved on to the next thing. |

I’ve always asked the parents. You don’t want to violate their household rules. I’ve always allowed my kids to have them, but my oldest had friends who weren’t allowed to play with nerf guns or who weren’t allowed until they were older. It takes very little effort to ask the parents whether they’re comfortable with it. |
