Nerf guns for 6-7 year old boys?

Anonymous
My kids and all their friends were super into them for one season around that age. It was like a neighborhood wave, similar to pokemon, cards, fidget spinners, etc. They and most friends got nerf guns, had some epic neighborhood battles and a few months later moved on to the next thing.

Ask the parents.

Let me guess, you'd let your kid play soccer? I'd worry more about concussions than playing with a Nerf toy.

I also have a friend who is confrontational about it when her DS receives a nerf or water gun as a gift. She'll confront the parents who gave the gift. I totally respect the parents who quietly give the gift away but you don't want to have to deal with the confrontational parent over something as trivial as a child's gift.

Jesus. Does your friend have any actual friends who still like her?

I’ve always asked the parents. You don’t want to violate their household rules. I’ve always allowed my kids to have them, but my oldest had friends who weren’t allowed to play with nerf guns or who weren’t allowed until they were older. It takes very little effort to ask the parents whether they’re comfortable with it.

Why would you be friends with someone like that?
