FWIW, I have been using Edge instead of Chrome (on Windows 11) and haven't seen the ad on it at all. |
This sort of fits my theory that the ads are linked to a cookie and once you get that cookie you keep getting the ads. If you ever get that cookie on Edge, you will probably get the ads again. That's if the problem hasn't been solved which I hope it has been. |
I'm on edge on my desktop and I get the ad all the time. But I don't use Chrome or Safari to browse the internet. |
Are you getting it today? |
Just got the ad again on Chrome, although I cleared cookies yesterday (for a different problem). Still good on Edge. |
I deleted cookies on Chrome today and just got the ad again. I also got a new giant ad I've never seen - something with a dog. |
seriously? every time I scroll I get giant ones for SC Johnson ziplock bags. |
You are getting these on a Mac rather than an iPhone? |
Jeff,
It is getting bad... I have never complained about these ads, but it is so frequent and so distracting this past week or so that I limit my visits to DCUM. Chrome on a desktop if it helps. I have cleared cookies with no change. |
What kinds of ads are you seeing? Is it possible to provide screenshots? |
Yes- I'm the PP. I get the giant St Augustine with the woman in the pool on every other thread. Edge on desktop. I also get it occasionally on my ipad running safari. |
I'm getting that St Augustine ad with the woman in the pool again too. Cleared cookies and I get it on both Edge and Chrome. Windows 11 on Surface. |
Our ad partner thought that they had tracked this ad down, but I guess not. |
I'm still getting the St. Augustine, lady in the pool, pan of paella full screen ads. If I wait about 30 seconds they go away but they keep coming back every few minutes. |
Definitely not. I'm the PP who posted the original 3 photos of the St Augustine ad. I am on my work computer today (I normally don't read on my work computer). I have gotten the St Augustine ad about 6 times in the last 20 minutes. Very disruptive. |
