HS principal and kinky boots

I would be creeped out if this was my kids principal.

+1 I should have used the phrase “bondage boots,” instead of stripper boots. Yes, it is a form of kink. So tacky for the principal to be in them.

I also think a principal in stripper boots isn't appropriate either. Also cringe.

100% this. Kids don’t need to be exposed to drag queens at all. No place for it in schools.

What other groups of Americans do you think high schoolers should not be exposed to? Just for reference.

Many of us feminists and women find drag queens to be offensive, misogynistic, hyper sexualized stereotypes that make a mockery of women and womanhood.

As a woman, I find drag queens offensive. They use hyper sexualized clothing and makeup to imitate and exaggerate females for humor and entertainment. It is degrading.

Well said.

They are always an offensive oversexualized stereotype of womanhood.

Please stop co-opting feminism to mask your bigotry. Thank you.

It's not bigotry if they also find Madonna offensive.

Calm down, Gladys.

+1

Lol! Yeah, calm down.

They're just ugly boots. No need to get your pearls in a twist. I came to this thread thinking the principal really looked inappropriate but she was in a totally appropriate t-shirt and pants with boots that she clearly were a prop.

I enjoyed Kinky Boots. (I saw a movie version.)

That doesn't mean it's appropriate as a high school musical.

Some teens are having sex. That doesn't mean we should celebrate and promote it at school.

Olney Theatre did a great version of Kinky Boots last year (I went back a second time with girlfriends after seeing it with teenage daughter). If you're not into drag, don't go. The music and story are great, and I am a female feminist who is not offended by drag. I don't like it/don't attend drag shows, but I'm not offended by it
