Baby Reindeer on Netflix

Why all these failure to launch characters?

Because that's really what the world is full of, not cheesy Disney characters grinning and dancing like idiots

I looked it up after, and it definitely seems real. People think they found the stalker using twitter.

I agree. I finished the series days ago and it's still left me feeling sick on my stomach especially since he went back to his abuser in the end. To call it disturbing is a huge understatement. I hope his rapist is exposed and ruined. I really do.

I think he embellished a lot for the series.

He did eventually. I’ve seen the tweets from her to him. He closed the account, she moved to a new one (which also has been abandoned).

She also became obsessed with Brexit, the Scottish National Party, and later BRF in 2018. You can tell via her tweets during the time where she is unwell.

I saw the same on twitter. It appeared she obsessively posted ALL the time, 24/7. Her spelling and grammar were very similar to the Netflix series. Very strange to see it on her actual account.

World really isn't full of them-but we glorify these types in this way. This guy wasn't brave, he was just ill.

And childhood just keeps extending and extending.

Anyway, now the stalker "Martha" is speaking speaks out, after she has been outed.

I think the whole situation is just sad and depressing overall. I miss aspirational tv too

Exploitive
Normalizes bad actors and behaviors
Sx addicts will watch it over and over

That’s why this BS isn’t on the heavy circuit. Dahmer series also attracted a perverse, and addicted, main audience.

Makes the less bad FTL feel better about themselves.

No. Reality is in between that for most people. Not chronic failure and crime and assault.

Doesn’t press charges against the rapist AND hangs out with him after his epiphany…and agrees to work with him?

Weird.

So the main character is gay or bi or what?

Is everything and the kitchen sink in here?

The promise of entering showbiz is too alluring to many. This is based on many true stories not just one actor’s experience .

It does in this film, actually.

Did getting raped make him bi/gay? Or was he already? And is this a common thing where getting raped changes a person's sexuality?

I wrote Exploitive and Grammarly (AI tool I use for work) corrected it to Exploitative so I just assumed it was right 🤷‍♀️

I found it sad and disturbing, but so real that it evoked empathy. It was beautiful.
