Baby Reindeer on Netflix

Anyone watching this? Seems like a good DCUM show so I’m surprised there’s no thread. I’m almost done with the series. The acting is fantastic and the writing is easy to follow and realistic. I highly recommend it.

I'm on episode 5... I would describe it as unnerving more than depressing.

I’m waiting for my husband to be out of town next week so I can watch it in peace.

Not depressing but made me sad.

The description of how Donny felt and his actions after he described his back story felt very true to me. I had some of those exact feelings.

I’m on episode 6. It’s good but frustrating that he goes along with so much of it.
Im know it’s a different system in England/Scotland but if had gotten a restraining order, the first time she violated it she would have been arrested. I feel like he brought some of it on himself.

I think in that episode he f-es her!

I think she became such a big part of his life and gave him the only self-worth he had, that he couldn't imagine a life without her.

I am pretty sure that was just in his head! But he goes into it in episode 6 why he made the choices he made.

I don’t buy it.

There’s no public record of the stalker and the (failed) comic who only garnered attention through this story as performance art seems way too accepting of everything that happened.

I’m guessing it never really happened and his show (first the live one man show and now this series) is hugely fictionalized. And that’s not a stretch given what he’s shared publicly about himself.

Anyhoo, the show is a typical British production: weird story that skews dark/twisted with mostly good acting. It was overly sexual and needlessly so. I feel like Netflix really bakes shock value into their content to pull viewers.

What a disturbed guy.

Doesn’t press charges against the rapist AND hangs out with him after his epiphany…and agrees to work with him?

Weird.
