When her brother was running for president, MSNBC showed every white man speaking(9 for 9) at the convention, but cut away from 7 of 8 minorities or women, all except Ann Romney.
They didn't want their audience to see all these speakers. |
What you may not realize, people, is that network executives are usually CONSERVATIVE. They're wealthy, usually white, and not at all progressive! To a conservative or independent, maybe hiring this woman didn't seem like a bad idea. They know election denialism is a big no-no, but there aren't many top-level GOP insiders who aren't, and have survived until now. The network execs were willing to trade the ethics for the big name. How they got their behinds handed to them! And rightly so. Also, please note that the GOP is now doing the same thing in reverse: after the Lara Trump purge, it's now apparently requiring all new hires to say that the previous election was stolen... |
It’s like NBC learned nothing from the Megyn Kelly debacle. Their audience was never going to accept McDaniel. The NBC/MSNBC on air personalities did them a favor. |
I've noticed that media narrative about how now that McDaniel is out at the RNC, the RNC is under total domination by Trump. A mere 2 weeks ago, McDaniel was a bulwark against Trump rule, according to the media and almost everyone here on DCUM. I disputed that, and was told I was wrong. Now you all agree with me. How interesting. So was the media lying then, or are they lying now? |
This is a really, really dumb take. Ronna McDaniel was head of RNC for what - 7 years? People were rightly concerned about her performance.... particularly her reluctance to encourage early voting and legal ballot harvesting. With MSNBC, she wasn't even given a chance. The on-air personalities decided to air their grievances very loudly, very rudely, and very publicly before she had even been on-air in her new role. At least we know who runs the network.... as if there was ever any question. It isn't the president of the network. |
Election deniers don’t belong on tv. |
I haven’t noticed this issue but I think the correct take is that even a completely obsequious McDaniel wasn’t enough for Trump and he chose to install the current team including his daughter in law instead. |
|
This. Ronna participated in the criminal activity attempting to overturn the election and had pushed the big lie for years. She is a criminal and a traitor. This is about putting a criminal on air vs having problems with conservative opinions. |
Please name a conservative who openly supports Trump that would be acceptable as an MSNBC talking head. |
Find one that does not agree with denying election results. |
This! Dissenting opinions are fine but endorsing a proven lie meant to steal an election and undermine faith in our democratic system is not okay. It should be a red line for everyone, regardless of political beliefs. |
You're arguing that someone who knowingly lied and advanced a criminal plot to overturn the 2020 presidential election result in Michigan should be "given a chance?" Talk about a dumb take. |
