Thread OPs, give us your updates!

There are recent posts begging for an update from the OP of the thread about a friend wanting to bring an affair partner on a friends’ trip. This and other threads make me wish OPs would come back with updates!

I’ll start. I’m the OP of the thread about the dying FIL and the SIL who wanted to fly him cross-country in his debilitated State. Update is that my DH put his foot down and refused, and FIL stayed here with us. He is in hospice care and comfortable in our home, and will die here before too much longer, hopefully peacefully. So, positive outcome as far as the DCUM thread goes.

I posted asking the OP for an update on the thread where they asked about ditching the poor sibling (who wanted to go to Branson) so the rest could go to Aruba. No response yet.

I’m currently nursing my third. She’s 4 months old and the sweetest baby I’ve ever met. I got pregnant less than two weeks after writing this post. Our lives are sometimes chaotic but much more manageable than I had feared. It helps that my husband and I both got promoted/switched jobs increasing our HHI by $25k year right before baby arrived. So that relieved what was going to be the initial financial pressure.

Yes, OPs should come back and update their threads, but even if they update here, they should go back and update the original thread itself! Then people who are interested are more likely to see the update.

I am the OP of the thread about uneven distribution of students between the two second grade classroom (I was very active on the PTA board and several school committees and it seems like last year the kids in one classroom were more advanced/had fewer behavioral challenges - really unbalanced distribution- and my kid got stuck in the ”worse” classroom).
Well it did turn out to be quite a challenging year; one student was eventually removed from the mainstream clsssroom (it gives you an idea of how severe his challenges were), there were incidents and the teacher was very very rigid and boring.
This year started off great but we were suddenly offered a spot at a lottery school and accepted. There was also a change of principals at the old school and the new person seems great.
Anyway, the year just validated my concerns and oh how much I wanted to be wrong. But now my kid is in a more suitable environment - just a lower needs school with all its benefits.

I an the OP of a thread a year ago about my son, who was a rising senior in high school, who was traveling around Sweden with his girlfriend and sent us an email saying he was going to stay a week longer. I was upset at the time that he didn’t ask us - he just told us and then was impossible to reach.

Became back from Sweden, stayed together with the girlfriend through successful senior year until the beginning of this summer when they broke up amicably as he had an internship before he started college and she went to Spain for the summer before starting college on the opposite coast.

He still describes those three weeks in Sweden as the best three weeks of his life!
