Where else has a nice national park/town combo like Acadia/bar harbor?

Really enjoyed the stay in bar harbor. Now a fan of visiting national parks!

Not upscale like other options, but Chincoteague and Assateague Island National Seashore, but nice small town.

+1, and Yellowstone is just north of Grand Teton and is a wonderful place to visit - literally my favorite national park. We camped there in Bridge Bay campground and there were 4 ig bull elk just hanging out, eating off the trees, like 100 yards away. West Yellowstone (town in Montana just outside the park) has some interesting stops too like the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.

^^^Yellowstone PP, what time of year did you visit Yellowstone? How many days do you recommend?

Apostle Islands and Bayfield, WI. Technically a national lake shore rather than park, but it's the same thing, really.
